Station

Name and dates

Cambus o' May (1876-1966)

Opened on the Aboyne and Braemar Railway.

Description

This was a single platform station. The platform, on the north side of the line, survives as does the station building. To the east was a loading bank on the north side of the line reached by a headshunt which was approached from the west. This headshunt continued over a level crossing as Cambus o' May Ballast Siding.

To the west a pedestrian suspension bridge, Cambus o' May Suspension Bridge, dating from 1905 by James Abernethy and Co., crosses the River Dee.

The station and line closed in 1966.
